Looking at the future with an eye to the past

Time to rebuild. Rebuild our party AND the media...

I said this on February 8,

"Well once again the RNC has handed us a shit candidate for president.

From this point on I am no longer a Republican. I am now an Independent, still conservative, but Independent. Being a conservative means having principles, and one of those principles is NOT "winning at any cost". And a "win" with McCain is a cost to dear to pay. And I cannot consider that event a "win".

I now know how Reagan must have felt when he said, "I didn't leave the Democratic party, they left me". And so has the Republican party left me."

McCain. The one who tried to sneak amnesty for illegals past us in the dark of night. The one whose traitorous gang of 14 made us let go of the dems throats when we had them pinned against the wall. The one who tried to defund the Republican party with McCain/Feingold, the bill that limits free speech and aids incumbents.

"This SHOULD be a major wake up call for Conservatives. The blame is to be placed squarely on the RNC. They have allowed our candidates to be filtered through the left before we even get to vote on them. A MAJOR shakeup is required at the RNC. Even in spite of Republicans repeatedly getting elected when they stick to conservative values, they somehow STILL think the way to get elected is to emulate liberals."

You'll note that almost ALL the Rino's lost Tuesday. Gone are the northeast liberal Republicans.
Mitch McConnell is still there, as is Michelle Bachmann. Prop. 8 in California passed. Conservatives or conservative ideas WON everywhere they were available choices.

Now the finger pointing and backstabbing are coming to a fore. AND not only from the libs as one might expect, but from the insiders and politicos in our OWN party. They're trying to blame Sarah Palin for McCains loss claiming she drug down the campaign.
You remember the pictures of the absolutely HUGE turnout at McCain events before Sarah don't you? You don't? That's because his miserable excuse for a campaign didn't have any turnout before Sarah. And what's more, the accusations being flung are not even issue oriented, they're PERSONAL attacks. Pesonal attacks by "unamed sources" in McCains campaign staff. And so far, I still haven't heard McCain condemn them. They were roundly condemned when they tried to bring up Obama's associations and past statements, why is Sarah fair game for personal attacks when Obama was not on legitimate issues? If McCain does not condemn these people he's even a bigger asshole than I thought he was.

Let these people man up and grow a pair. Lets see them put their NAMES behind what they're saying. They're cowards plain and simple.

Bhawhahwhahwhwhaaaa what a tool.

Not a sore loser Cliffy.

No sour grapes for you guys. You did what you always do.

But I have a shit load of sour grapes for the Republican party.

Interesting isn't it? In what should've been a great year for Dems, you only won the election by about the number of people in New York city. McCain should've lost by a MUCH greater number and he didn't.

I'm not sure where "fraud" fits into it Clif. Unless your talking about the Rino's that made this possible. If anything they're the frauds.

You honestly think McCain was a right winger? Before he started running in this election he spent more time on your side of a aisle than ours.

No Clif, but I'm not gonna let you drag my boy in on this just so you can slime him too.

I'm disgusted with both parties, guys. I'm ready to dust off Ross Perot, give him some shock therapy and suit him up. And I am only partly kidding here.

I agree Will.

Unless and until the RNC cleans itself up and decides wether they're Conservative or Dem lite, they're on their own.

IrOnY RaGeD said...

No Clif, I'm gonna stick around to be a thorn in your side for quite awhile longer.

I've noticed that a lot of our more cutting comments get deleted over at LCs. It doesn't seem, however, that any of the insults directed toward us ever reach that cutting-room floor. Funny, huh?

"Barr's a switch-hitter." This, according to Bartlebee. Gee, another homophobe over there, what a surprise. How 'bout this one, though, from Mike, "a bottom of his class ignorant Neo Con POW"? I challenged him to find one instance of me being that disrespectful to Obama. Let's see if he can find one.

thereturnofRusty said...

I honestly hope Obama is successful as president,I really do.

My concerns are the path we are taking right now.

Why would we even consider bailing out the auto industry?I understand all the jobs, all the suppliers to the auto makers and so on and so on.

If we want to be automobile manufacturer's just buy them out and let the government make the cars....hell,let the government run the banks and investment houses, while they are at it let them run healthcare, education and anything else that suits their fancy.

Whats that called? Oh yea,socialism.

Did you just pull that one out of YOUR ass, Clif? What a sick man you are.

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

Why don't you do something productive, Clif? Maybe blame Nixon for the Bay of Pigs again or something. Anything! You can do it, my man.

You know how the LC crowd is always ragging on McCain for finishing near the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy? Well, guess what? It appears that Joe Biden finished 76th out his class of 85 at Syracuse Law School. Interesting, huh? I mean, I give him credit for graduating from a law program, period, passing the bar exam, etc.. But if these guys over there want to bring up rankings all the time, why the hell NOT mention it? Comments, Clif?

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

How 'bout Bartlebee, though? Ain't he another prince? When I pointed out that Biden ranked 76th out of 85 at Syracuse Law, he accused me of "mocking" our new Vice President. This, while out of the other side of his mouth he called Governor Palin a WHORE!!! No mocking there, huh? LOL

thereturnofRusty said...

Will, why on earth would you find what those idiots at LC troublesome?

Its pretty damn obvious Bart and Mike have no lives other then that blog, actually a chat room.I'd guess both of them are very uncomfortable in any kind of social setting and feel most at home being keyboard kowboys.

It really is a bit sad.

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

"uncomfortable in any kind of social setting" I love it! LOL Can you imagine how Mike would act if he actually DID meet Lydia? He'd frigging melt!

IrOnY RaGeD said...

Actually Will, Mike DID meet Lydia. At one of her shows in Vegas. She had a picture of him up awhile back...

IrOnY RaGeD said...

Regarding Bart,

I like how he rails against religious fundamentalists, then calls me "evil" and spouts bible quotes for the next 2 hours...

IrOnY RaGeD said...

As to Mike "melting", rumor has it that one of the warm up comedians ran his girlfriend off in tears and Mike just sat there and didn't go after her.

IrOnY RaGeD said...

I think Rusty has more on that story...LOL

thereturnofRusty said...

The story is....Mike and his last (I think only) girlfriend,at Mikes urging made the grave error in sitting in the front row at a comedy club.

To the surprise of no one but Mike of course the comedian started making fun of Mikes date. She,as the story goes, got highly pissed off demanding Mike uphold her honor.Mike being what he is slumped in his seat...some say after peeing in his pants. The girl then realizes she's dating Mr.Rogers gets up and walks out of the club leaving Mike to cry in his beer.

Fast foward to the present....now Mike along with his male companion's Bart and Clif engage in a semi-nightly circle jerk.

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

The details are starting to fill in a little. I actually did have a feeling that there was more than meets the eye, to be honest with you.

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

I'm telling you, though, nobody does an arm-bar take-down like Rusty. It's poetry, man.
